About Us
Skin City was founded by the present owner Brigitta Burr-Melendy in July 1995. Skin City's location has always been at 323 Divisadero Street in the heart of San Francisco.
Brigitta is a native San Franciscan who has great respect and pride for her home base of San Francisco. She has been an esthetician since May 1993 and has developed her practice steadily over the years. It has been her dream to create a work atmosphere that is warm, welcoming and affordable. Through the continued service oriented efforts of the staff, the salon maintains a client base of several hundred regular clients, some who have been clients since 1995! Many of these loyal clients are now also considered friends.
Skin City is known not only as a skin care salon, but also a neighborhood supporter of various community events. It is a way of giving back to a community that has allowed the salon to flourish.
A note from Brigitta:
It has been wonderful and interesting to watch and participate in the growth and development of this unique business. Skin City is my second home and luckily all those who work here feel the same. Throughout the years the staff and I have shared various milestones of life and continue to support each other personally and professionally. During times of reflection, I feel great appreciation for each staff member, as each continues to offer her individual touch in the workplace.
